I use an app called The Battery to set batting orders and defensive assignments, and to keep track of how much every pitcher has thrown. It uses each player's game statistics to spread playing time fairly and put kids in positions they're suited to. This note explains exactly what it keeps about your child, because you should know that without having to ask.
Arm injuries in youth baseball and softball come from cumulative workload, and a child who pitches for two teams in the same week is the case nobody is tracking — each coach only sees their own half of it. If your child appears on more than one of my teams in this app, it adds those counts together and applies the rest days our league requires to the child rather than to the roster. That is the main reason I use it.
Me, and any assistant coach I specifically invite. Nobody else — not other parents, not the league, not advertisers. The information is never sold, rented or shared for advertising, and the app has no ads and no tracking in it.
Through the season. When I delete the team, every record in it is erased permanently.
No signature is needed — this is for your information. But if you'd prefer your child's name not be in the app at all, just tell me. I'll keep them off it, and it will have no effect whatsoever on playing time or position. You can also ask me at any point to show you what's recorded, correct it, or delete it.
